About the artist
My work begins with paying attention.
Forest walks, time in the garden, and quiet moments observing daily life invite me to slow down and notice the richness, beauty and quiet intelligence of the natural world. Rather than documenting a particular place, I am interested in the feeling of being immersed in it – the shifting light, layered movement, and small details that are easily overlooked.
Through painting, I explore the space between observation, memory, and experience, allowing forms to move between representation and abstraction. These ordinary moments hold quiet beauty and layered meaning, shaping the emotional landscape of the work.
I am drawn to the healing presence of nature—its companionship, refuge and capacity for renewal. Through cycles of growth, change and resilience, I recognize reflections of our own human experience.
Working in clay is a natural extension of my painting practice – a way of carrying these experiences into everyday life. Created to be held and used, each piece is an invitation to pause, to notice, and to find beauty in the ordinary.
